Films101 was built by a database enthusiast in association with Amazon.com. For the first several years, income from Amazon was almost enough to cover expenses, and with the possibility of growth, construction and improvements continued.

In June 2009, Amazon closed their affiliate program in North Carolina, answering a nagging question I didn't want to face - "What if I had to do without Amazon?". I've tried other affiliate programs since then, but none have been worth a damn. Meanwhile, operating costs have increased and improvements have been put on hold.

Please ask yourself where else you can research so many worthwhile films with such ease and decide what it's worth to you to save Films101, for yourself. By contributing to Films101, you can help preserve and improve this unique historical record of films.
